Hi, I'm Laura Wilvert, a certified massage therapist, Reiki practitioner, and member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals.  Here is a little bit about me and the work that I do.

   I grew up in San Luis Obispo and earned a master's degree in  geography.  I enjoyed working in national parks and forests for several years and for most of that time, I served as an EMT.  I then made a career change, starting with a year in Alaska and then certification in traditional massage therapy, craniosacral therapy, energy healing, and Reiki.  Reiki is a Japanese energy technique that facilitates relaxation and healing.  In my current practice I use this background and my own intuitive ability to provide an energy balancing Reiki treatment that serves to open the door to a client's own healing ability.  I am avaliable by appointment at Central Coast Body Therapy Center, 2005 9th St., Suite A, Los Osos, California.

In addtion to working on people, I do sessions on dogs, cats, and horses.   I am trained in the Masterson Method, a form of equine bodywork, and in animal communication.  I have worked and volunteered at several ranches and therapeutic riding centers.  As a reiki practitioner, I provide a calming experience of energy balancing for horses and small animals.  Most animals become visibly relaxed, release stress and tension from their bodies on their own, and sometimes go to sleep.

   Each individual's body has the ability to heal itself, and my session's goal is to support that ability and to serve the highest good.

   Sessions are $60 and last 50 minutes.
